Young Leaders Program Coordinator

The Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank seeking a Young Leaders Program Coordinator to support the planning and execution of their Young Leaders Program. The Coordinator will work closely with the YLP Manager to develop a talent pipeline and ensure a positive experience for interns through effective program management and relationship building.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all program preparations each semester, including managing the program schedule, purchasing materials, corresponding with current/prospective interns and intern supervisors, and daily event planning
Propose content for and coordinate YLP first-day Onboarding, including scheduling speakers, managing logistics with key departments, preparing materials, and hosting the day-long session
Support the planning and execution of semester programming, including lectures, mentorship matching, and semester graduations
Serve as the point of contact for daily YLP programming
Organize and chaperone YLP field trips and social events
Support the YLP Manager in the rolling hiring process, including organizing and tracking the intern applicant information, consulting with departmental hiring managers, and providing necessary information to internal stakeholders
Assist with email and phone outreach efforts to support recruitment
Build and maintain positive relationships with program participants and colleagues, ensuring a productive and engaging work environment and positive intern experience
Represent Heritage at key events and recruit for YLP and other student programs
Communicate program updates and information with departmental and organizational teammates

Required

Some experience in conservative political or student activities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Suite, CRM databases, ability to master new software
Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the department's goals and objectives
Exceptional attention to detail; strong organizational skills
Outreach and relationship management skills required
Basic knowledge of policy issues and conservative policy positions required
Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred

B.A. or B.S. preferred
Alumni of the Young Leaders Program are preferred
