Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, CFO, and board of directors, providing financial insights that shape key strategic and operational decisions
Collaborate with business leaders across departments to manage budgets, deliver scenario analysis, and provide recommendations to the board of directors
Support fundraising and business development activities, including due diligence, financial modeling and investor relations
Prepare and present strategic recommendations to the board of directors and its subcommittees
Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and investment strategies that ensure liquidity and minimize balance sheet exposure
Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes and reporting in compliance with GAAP
Ensure strong internal controls, SOX readiness, and compliance with tax and other reporting requirements
Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and manage related inquiries and deliverables
Evaluate and implement systems and process improvements to streamline operations, enhance reporting capabilities, and promote efficient cross-functional collaboration
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing fractional finance and accounting team
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture aligned with organizational values
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
11+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience, including 8+ years in leadership roles
Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or other high-growth industries
Demonstrated expertise in FP&A, scenario analysis, strategic planning, treasury, and regulatory compliance
Proven track record in fundraising, including partnering with PE/VC investors and leading IPO readiness or execution
Strong technical expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, corporate taxation, and proven track record of leading successful audits
Strong executive presence with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional collaboration
Hands-on, results-driven financial leader with exceptional analytical, leadership, and strategic skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Proven track record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams
Highest standards of ethics, integrity, and dependability
Preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
