Responsibilities

Work in a cross-functional technical team to develop new improved product designs
Communicate and present to both internal and external customers
Support program management in planning and executing project assignments
Support continuous improvement for process and design improvements
Provide technical guidance and direction on day-to-day mechanical related challenges
Be responsible for development activities which may include leading or participating in:
Concept, planning, preliminary, final and qualification phases
Risk assessment
Design reviews (TIM, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
Create engineered 3D models, drawings, test plans, and technical reports
Responsible for recording and sharing technical lessons learned with colleagues
Perform drawing reviews for technical accuracy and clarity
The Project Engineer may be required to assist in managing the Mechanical Design and Drafting team’s day-to-day priorities

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum of three years' related design experience
Minimum of three years' experience in 3D modeling
Excellent verbal & written communications; ability to clearly present complex information
Ability to multi-task and to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
Effective listening skills-leading to well-informed solutions
Critical thinking-using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or new approaches to solving reoccurring problems
Complex problem solving-identifying complex problem, implementing effective solution
Commitment to task- able to start and persist with specific courses of action, while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
Ability to look at situations from several points of view
High comfort level working in a diverse environment
Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc
Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environment
Ability to move test equipment up to 25 pounds
Limited travel required to support customers and qualification testing as required

SolidWorks preferred
Basic SolidWorks 2D or equivalent drafting package
Basic SolidWorks 3D modeling capabilities
