Ellsworth Adhesives is a global leader in specialty chemicals and adhesive manufacturing, currently seeking a Chemical Process Engineer. This role focuses on supporting the development and optimization of chemical processes, ensuring product quality and safety while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective/preventive actions for internal and external quality incidents (Sr level candidates will be able to lead and direct these activities with the team)

Supports the commercialization of new products by developing and validating manufacturing processes and quality specifications

Performs in-process batch adjustments and supports production scaling to meet product specifications

Analyzes production and test data to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction

Participates in the disposition of non-conforming materials and supports deviation management (Sr level candidates will also be able to assess cost and responsibility)

Senior level candidates will have experience coaching and mentoring other engineers on projects and processes and lead continuous improvement activities

Required

3+ years of engineering or quality experience in chemical processing or related field (5+ years' experience for Sr level candidates)

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach (Sr level candidates will be able to synthesize complex information to maximize efficiencies while mitigating risk)

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrated ability to manage customer concerns with professionalism and empathy (Sr level candidates must have a strong track record of managing difficult or emotional customer situations)

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Familiarity with process control, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies

Occasional Travel - Working knowledge of regulatory standards and chemical safety, including interpreting Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets to support safe and compliant manufacturing operations
