The Assistant Stationary Systems Operator will perform manual labor and basic maintenance tasks to support the manufacturing and warehouse operations, including refrigeration and boiler maintenance.
Retail
Responsibilities
With instruction, performs basic water testing and chemical treatment on plant cooling systems
Transports salt using forklift / manual pallet jack; replenishes saltwater softeners
Independently performs basic cleaning, straightening, organizing in Plant machine rooms
With supervision, performs PM tasks on refrigeration equipment, including scraping, sanding, and painting
Assists higher-level operators to install / troubleshoot / maintain / repair industrial refrigeration mechanical equipment
With provided training, applies basic understanding of electrical diagrams
Learns to use basic electrical test equipment (amp meter, voltage / ohm multimeter) to perform electrical measurements to determine proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting on AC / DC circuits up to 120 volts
Assists higher-level operators to troubleshoot / repair / maintain more complex electrical equipment and systems
Preserves piping / equipment by preparing surfaces and applying a variety of paint coatings
Learns to independently perform basic mechanical integrity inspections for insulated pipe systems and pipe supports
Occasionally assists higher-level operators to troubleshoot / maintain / repair more complex refrigeration equipment
Assists senior technicians to transport equipment, tools, and materials to and from job sites
Assists in cleaning debris, scrap material, ice, water, or oil from job sites; disposes of properly
Performs boiler water and feed water testing and treatment
Preserves piping / equipment by preparing surfaces and applying a variety of paint coatings to steam equipment
Assists higher-level operators to prepare boilers for state, local, and insurance inspections
With supervision, performs basic PM tasks on steam equipment, including scraping, sanding, and painting
Assists higher-level operators to troubleshoot / maintain / repair more complex steam equipment
Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) to complete work orders, parts requisitions, and lockout / tagout
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, or equivalent
6 months of work experience
40-hour HAZMAT certification (or ability to acquire / maintain)
Strong organization and time-management skills
Verbal / written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail
Ability to speak and read English
Initiative
Work while standing, sitting, stooping, walking, bending, with hands over head, and in prone position
Climb; work from a 25-foot ladder and other elevated work platforms (manlift, scissor lift, catwalk, silo)
Occasionally lift and carry 90 lbs
Work in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 130 degrees
Pass an annual HAZMAT physical
