DIRECTOR OF GRANTS AND DEVELOPMENT
Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center Inc is seeking a Director of Grants and Development to enhance their capacity and sustainability through effective grant management and development. Responsibilities
Works with CEO and CFO to understand strategic planning priorities, seeks out public funding opportunities to meet the priorities, and summarizes and presents potential funding opportunities to the Senior Leadership Team
Works with relevant stakeholders to identify funding strategies and opportunities through outreach, networking and partnerships with community agencies
Builds relationships and engages with department leadership on a routine basis to understand program services and funding needs
Works with the Finance team to understand potential implications on top line and bottom-line revenue for the ANHC
Engages in training with staff members responsible for programmatic aspects of grant management. If a department head is taking on a new grant fund, works with the individual to ensure they understand appropriate grant funded activities, prohibited activities, and the financial stewardship principles of grant awards
Builds professional network of other grant professionals in healthcare to understand available opportunities that ANHC may not be capitalizing on. Works to build partnerships with external entities if needed to support a grant application, such as partnership with a university to support an application that requires research
Takes the lead role in preparing grant application materials for submission and ensures all aspects of grant programmatic and financial requirements are met
Takes the lead role of grant writer for ANHC which includes overall responsibility for the development of proposal abstracts, letters of intent, summary data sheet, and proposal narratives
Monitors sub-awards and works with community partners to secure grants
Oversees team who maintains grant files for audit including completing and maintaining documentation for award conditions and completing grant set up, budget approval, progress report approval and submission, financial report approval and submission including close out procedures
Demonstrates ability to manage competing demands, establish priorities and meet all deadlines
Demonstrates excellent technical writing skills, project management skills and organizational and time management skills to keep projects on track
Provides various project management and/or project implementation support as needed
Provides direction and oversight to the Grants Manager role
Represents ANHC at grant required conferences or meetings, attends stakeholder or legislative hearings related to areas of interest for ANHC as assigned
Tracks cyclical grant opportunities in areas of interest to ANHC, conducts long range planning ahead of release of a new RFP if the program created by the grant is a significant departure from current practices or program offerings
Develop and maintain relationships with existing donors
Maintain donor list and engage donors in ANHC work
Develop and obtain financial support from new individuals and organizations
Demonstrates a collaborative spirit and superb written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues, donors and other community stakeholders
Develops and manages policies, procedures and practices related to the grants and development department
Prepares grants & development department budget; tracks budget progress monthly
Collaborates in the development of marketing strategies with ANHC services across the State and networking with community partners and potential funders
Collaborates with staff to create and implement an annual fundraising plan
Manages special projects as assigned by their supervisor
Qualification
Required
Minimum of five years' experience in grant writing and program development in the non-profit sector or similar setting
Bachelor's degree required
Familiar with the non-profit community ecosystem in Alaska and a demonstrated history of partnering with other entities to either develop grant proposals or implement projects
Preferred
Obtaining this experience in the healthcare space is preferred
Master's degree preferred
