Responsibilities

The Sensory Operations Specialist provides support for documentation, sample coordination, and compliance within sensory testing operations
This role ensures that procedures are followed accurately and consistently, and that documentation is maintained to support audit readiness and quality standards
The specialist also supports lab activities by assisting with the logistics of sensory sample testing, ensuring smooth coordination across teams and alignment with established priorities
Key responsibilities include assisting with the creation, revision, and formatting of standard procedures and forms related to sensory operations
The specialist supports documentation updates in collaboration with procedure owners, maintains organized records of procedures, and facilitates change requests
Adherence to established documentation practices is critical to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance
In support of compliance and quality initiatives, the specialist contributes to Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes by documenting corrective actions, tracking implementation status, and ensuring timely closure of action items
They help monitor procedural adherence and escalate deviations to appropriate stakeholders
The role also supports training efforts related to procedural compliance and documentation workflows
In support of lab activities, the specialist assists with the logistics of sensory sample testing from various internal departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and research and development
They help ensure that all required documentation is accurately gathered and maintained, and that sample-related information is clearly communicated to support testing plans and overall operational efficiency
Cross-functional collaboration is essential in this role
The specialist works with quality, manufacturing, and product development teams to gather necessary information for sensory evaluations
They support communication with stakeholders regarding documentation needs and procedural updates, and assist with training team members on procedural compliance and documentation workflows

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or a related field
At least three years of experience in sensory science, quality control, or manufacturing with a strong emphasis on compliance and documentation practices
Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory or procedural compliance in a lab or manufacturing environment
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in document management systems and standard office software

Preferred

Experience in a plant, manufacturing, or regulated lab setting
Familiarity with quality systems and documentation practices
Knowledge of sensory
