Tribal Survivor Project Staff Attorney
Michigan Advocacy Program is seeking a Staff Attorney for their Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project focused on serving Native American survivors of domestic violence in Northern Michigan. The Staff Attorney will provide legal assistance in family law matters, working remotely while primarily serving clients located in Northern Michigan.

Responsibilities
Serve Native American survivors of domestic violence with family law matters
Work with clients ranging from advice to full litigation in civil cases in both State and Tribal Court
Collaborate with the CVLAP team and other legal aid organizations
Qualification
Required
Candidates should be licensed to practice law in Michigan
Qualified to be admitted by waiver
Able to take the next Michigan bar exam
Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals and underserved populations through lived or learned experience
Proficient with major software and web services including Word, Excel, G Suite
Access to a reliable internet connection
Valid driver's license
Access to transportation to reliably travel to meet with clients, attend court hearings, and visit with Tribal Advocates
Preferred
Experience with issues impacting domestic violence survivors and/or Native American communities
