Responsibilities

Maintaining precise records of trailer movements, such as arrival and departure times, trailer numbers, and locations; as this information helps track inventory, monitor efficiency, and resolve any discrepancies

Safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a truck or tractor-trailer, to transport materials

Working closely with warehouse dock personnel, including forklift operators and truck drivers to coordinate the timely movement of trailers to and from loading bays to maintain smooth operations

Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contact Logistics Management about removing orders according to company policy

Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies

Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed

Loads and Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas using electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc

Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured

Sustain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption

Communicate with warehouse personnel, dispatchers, and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or any other relevant information

Follow instructions for proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage or accidents

Adhere to delivery schedules and meet deadlines for timely and efficient distribution of goods

Perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure
