Housing Contracts Coordinator
The University of California, Riverside is seeking a Housing Contracts Coordinator to enhance the student transition to campus and oversee housing services. Responsibilities
Provide university students with a successful transition to campus and a living environment complementary to their academic careers, while meeting department fiduciary responsibilities and maintaining maximum facility occupancy levels
Provide responsive and consistent customer service that supports an exemplary university reputation and is critical to both current and future revenue generation
Apply Housing Services policies and procedures to oversee ongoing administrative, customer relation, financial, analytical, and operational issues of moderate scope
Act as the principal Housing Services liaison to students, student families, university offices, external agencies, and the general public with regard to general campus housing inquiries and interpreting campus housing policy and procedures
Manage the campus housing application, contracting, assignment and financial accounting data and processes for a residential population of approximately 10,000 persons
Administer the billing, collection, and reconciliation of residential and commercial accounts generating income in excess of $110 million dollars
Advise residents with regard to fiscal and contractual obligations, alternative fiscal and social resources, appeals, dispute resolution, and penalties
Coordinate unlawful detainer actions with third party resources, law enforcement, and legal counsel, as well as participate in campus and department outreach events and activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
2 - 4 years of related experience
Experience working with online systems, databases and query tools
Experience working with contracts or accounts services
Experience working in a high-volume environment, with frequent interruptions
Experience working in a customer service environment responding to and meeting the needs of the customer
Experience applying University of California policies and laws recommending write-off of uncollectible debts and resolving delinquent payment problems
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making
Demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively communicate verbally and in writing to and work collaboratively, cooperatively, and maintain professional relationships with diverse populations, including students, faculty, staff in various campus departments, and external constituents and agencies
Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position
Preferred
Experience and/or knowledge of UC/UCR systems, policies, procedures, and regulations
Experience working in university housing, or similar hospitality environment
Experience working with billing and accounts receivables and their associated systems
Experience working with StarRez, or similar housing management system
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs
