Responsibilities

Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values

Prepare work areas at jobsite for field engineering activities

Perform basic survey functions using measuring tape, plumb bob, chalk lines, carpenters level, square, survey prisms, tribrach, tripods, pole and builders level

Basic understanding of field computations

Perform basic plane geometry and trigonometry to determine coordinate locations for layout

Assist with quality control inspections

Maintain clean and organized equipment and office files; assists with maintenance of project documents including posting drawings with design changes and documentation of as-built field conditions

Assist with recordkeeping in the form of field notes, sketches, reports and daily logs

Assist with interpretation of drawings and specifications including review of shop drawings and submittals for consistency with contract documents

Maintain inventory of survey supplies needed for project

Learn and integrate DAVIS engineering best practices

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Prior field experience in commercial construction environment

Proficient at reading and understanding contract drawing, including but not limited to both structural and architectural drawings, with the ability to cross check between the two documents as needed

Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills

Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization

MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience
