Electrical Engineer, Entry Level

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors. They are seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to design, maintain, and repair critical electrical infrastructure while supporting mission-critical processes for the U.S. Navy.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and repair critical electrical infrastructure including, but not limited to, switchgear, power panels, lighting systems, and backup power systems (UPS and Generator)
Provide contribution in the development of electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
Gather surveys, write reports, and develop documents using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint
Manage design with National Electrical Codes (NFPA & International Code Council) and assure design documents are prepared in compliance with these codes
Provide engineering support in areas of expertise and be able to work effectively as a team player with other engineering professionals, crafts trades personnel, management, business developers, and administrative staff
Learn from seasoned professionals with industry experience

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering

Preferred

Familiarity with electrical trade work and equipment installations
Power systems focus in undergraduate degree
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with teams
Participation in large scale construction projects
Familiarity with electrical power diagrams and schematics
Knowledge of CAD software
Knowledge of SKM Power Tools software or equivalent
Knowledge of NFPA 70 & 70E and familiarity other industry building codes
Must be flexible in work assignments
