Responsibilities
Answers and directs all incoming calls
Greet visitors and assist in keeping the campus secure by screening visitors to campus Help visitors to sign in to campus through SchoolPass and use of visitor logs and badges
Assist students with periodic needs, for example, if they are leaving early, contacting their parents, and nurse responsibilities in the absence of the school nurse. Follow all procedures to make sure parents sign their students out correctly through SchoolPass
Administrative tasks as assigned for the Middle School Director, Lower School Director, and the Whole Child Leadership Team (WCLT)
Stay up-to-date on-campus events and activities to better direct visitors and students
Compiles and maintains daily attendance records
Arrange substitute teaching coverage for absent faculty (includes responding outside of normal business hours)
Assist in transportation arrangements for field trips and overnight trips
Creates annual schedules for community hospitality options (Tuesday Treats, Kitchen Duty, Carpool placards)
Maintain Lounge supplies (order coffee, milk, etc.)
Maintain front office and mail room supplies and organization
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a calm, friendly, and organized manner
Ability to successfully complete duties in an environment with constant interruptions and distractions
Ability to operate a computer and enter data accurately
Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills
Quick learner, able to learn new software/computer programs quickly
Administrative assistant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Bachelor of Arts degree in related field preferred
Experience in an independent school and/or not-for-profit environment preferred
