Supplier Quality Engineer III

Responsibilities
Supplier Risk Management: Lead risk assessments of supplier processes and implement strategies to mitigate potential quality issues
Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align supplier quality objectives with project requirements
Performance Improvement Initiatives: Develop and execute supplier improvement programs based on data-driven insights
Supplier Qualification Oversight: Manage the PPAP process for new and existing suppliers, ensuring compliance with specifications
Quality Support & Collaboration: Provide quality support for operations, working closely with Global Sourcing to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures
Metrics & Feedback Utilization: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, driving data-driven decision-making across the company
Team Support: Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team
Industry Trends & Innovation: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into the company’s approach to quality engineering
Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
5-7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on supplier quality within the electrical industry or a related industry
High level knowledge of supplier quality systems, including APQP, PPAP, and Six Sigma tools
Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale supplier quality programs
Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis
Sound understanding of supplier qualification processes and risk mitigation strategies
Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function
Good project management skills, able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges
Sound organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment
Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience
Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ
