Responsibilities
Contributing to and supporting the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by identifying ideas to improve system performance, efficiency, and introducing new capabilities
Improving/developing automation for cluster installation, system upgrades, patch management/compliance, and monitoring the health of the overall environment
Cluster capacity management and providing level two operational support
Driving troubleshooting calls and providing status updates to management as needed
Working with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing and author/edit system documentation/playbook(s)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
Seven+ years of experience in software engineering or IT including at least four years of experience in a role in which the primary responsibility is git based application code development and/or DevOps Engineering and/or the development, maintenance, and support of CI/CD pipelines or appropriate combination of industry related professional experience and education
Foundational cloud architecture knowledge
Must demonstrate ability to write code
Must demonstrate ability to construct basic application build pipeline
Preferred
Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile development & release practices
Banking or financial services experience
Knowledge about Kubernetes design standards, patterns, and best practices
Knowledge about Micro-services design standards, patterns, and best practices
Proven track record of acting as SME for Container projects and managing the day-to-day operations of a container platform
Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills
Excellent problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze problem in multiple perspectives
Must have a -can-do- attitude, a passion for technology, and willingness to learn new skills
Must be confident, self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and team oriented
Hands-on experience with at least 3-4 of the following: Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Scripting/automation, Container platform administration/support
Any Linux administration (preferably RHEL/CoreOS)
Experience with Micro-services, Gitlab, Azure DevOps/Jenkins, Rally, JFrog Artifactory/Docker Registry/RedHat Registry, Ansible, Gitops, ArgoCD
Have working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based deployments and configurations along with monitoring and alerting
Experience working with Agile teams and good understanding of Agile principles is a must
