IT Specialist (Policy and Planning/ Network Services)

Responsibilities
Serve as an IT network administrator and service delivery subject matter expert on a general officer level staff
Provide technical and procedural advice to leadership on a wide array of IT issues and solutions
Provide advice and assistance to customers, analyze complex networking problems, and provide support
Develop and execute security plans for protection of corporate data from unauthorized internal or external access
Implement Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) to newly deployed or existing network equipment to ensure information assurance (IA) compliance
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship
One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 or equivalent performing duties as an IT network administrator and service delivery subject matter expert on a general officer level staff
Ability to provide technical and procedural advice to leadership on a wide array of IT issues and solutions
Experience applying multi-tier level IT knowledge regarding a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations
Experience providing advice and assistance to customers, analyzing complex networking problems, and providing support
Knowledge of firewalls, virtual private networks, encryption devices, routing, switching, and detection/protection devices
Experience developing and executing security plans for protection of corporate data from unauthorized internal or external access
Ability to implement Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) to newly deployed or existing network equipment to ensure information assurance (IA) compliance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP Secret clearance based on the duties and responsibilities identified
Position is designated as Emergency Essential

Position is subject to random drug-testing
This position is designated as an IT Level I/IAT II. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain required baseline certification/recertification within 6 months of employment per DoD Directive 8570-01-M, AR 25-2
Benefits
Payment of Relocation/Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
Direct deposit of pay is required.
