SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING)
MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR is seeking a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist in the Quality Assurance Department. The role involves overseeing quality assurance matters, managing personnel, and ensuring compliance with quality standards in shipbuilding.

Responsibilities
You will review workload and technical demands and adjust ceilings and personnel as required
You will support the Division Head with quality assurance matters related to contracted work
You will plan and oversee implementation of training programs to develop and maintain capability in newer procedures and modifications of older procedures
You will participate in team investigations for especially urgent or complex problems
You will develop and defend the division budget acting as designated funds administer for tasks involving the division
You will interpret, organize, execute and coordinate complex assignments and projects using managerial and technical judgement to resolve a variety of intrinsically complex problems
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying the full range of engineering, principles, concepts, and methodology related to ship repair/shipbuilding quality assurance programs
Experience investigating, analyzing and effecting corrective action on complex quality problems
Experience planning and managing a quality control program while maintaining good working relationships with contracted shipyards and their subcontractors
Experience reading and interpreting contract specifications and engineering drawings, preparing written reports, and making oral presentations
Experience training other organizations, such as ship forces personnel, implementing the Quality Assurance Program during their ship's availability
