Responsibilities

Serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist and Configuration Manager within the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (SOFCOM), Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO)
As the CIO Configuration Manager, responsible for Configuration Management, IT asset management, Continuity of Operations, and Disaster Recovery
Provides technical and procedural advice to the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (SOFCOM) leadership on configuration management
Develops, updates, and maintains IT Configuration and Change Management (ICCM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, processes, and procedures

Required

One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent performing the following duties: Serves as an IT Change Management / Configuration Manager at a general officer level headquarters
Develops, updates and maintains IT Configuration & Change Management (ICCM) policies, processes, and procedures
Serves as Change Manager for data and voice networks, systems, and audio visual infrastructure
Serves as a Change Advisory Board Manager, ensuring compliance with documented policies, orders, and directives
Develops IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, processes, and procedures
Operates and maintains IT Asset Management Tool/System and Configuration Management Databases
Manages lifecycle of configuration items, ensuring sustainment of equipment is planned for, budgeted, and executed
Manages approved equipment and software product lists and end of life or renewal
Manages, maintains, and renews software licenses; maintains proof of licensure and ensures use of licenses are compliant with applicable laws
Serves as a technical point of contact for vendor warranty and maintenance support ensuring effective sustainment coverage
Advises, plans, and coordinates Information Technology (IT) requirements and capabilities for Continuity of Operations (COOP), contingency, and Disaster Recovery Plans
Must be able to obtain and maintain required baseline certification/recertification within 6 months of employment per DoD Directive 8570-01-M, AR 25-2
Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights
This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance based on the duties and responsibilities identified
Position is designated as Emergency Essential
Pre-employment physical required
Position is subject to random drug-testing

Benefits

Payment of Relocation/Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc.
