GIS Database Senior System Analyst

They are seeking a GIS Project Team Lead to oversee geodatabase administration and lead the NRG to GIS migration project, utilizing geoprocessing tools and ensuring effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Geodatabase Maintenance: Perform geodatabase compress operations to optimize data storage and maintain system performance. Utilize geoprocessing tools for data manipulation and management within the geodatabase. Understand and implement versioning in geodatabases, reconciling versions to maintain data integrity
Geodatabase Administration: Administer geodatabases using ESRI ArcCatalog, providing access and privileges to users based on project requirements. Create feature classes, update feature classes, and create geodatabase. Manage data replication processes to ensure consistency across distributed geodatabases
Communication and Collaboration: Oversee and manage team members to foster effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that project progress is transparent and potential challenges are proactively addressed
Collaboration with DBA Group: Collaborate with the DBA group to ensure seamless integration of geodatabases with overall database management strategies. Triage database requests to the DBA team, ensuring prompt and efficient handling of geodatabase-related queries
Geometry Repair: Implement geometry repair processes to address data inconsistencies and maintain spatial accuracy
Posting and Publishing: Execute posting processes to update versions and publish data for broader access
Tracing and Modeling: Conduct data tracing and modeling to analyze spatial relationships and optimize data structure
Workshop Participation: Actively participate and engage in workshops, contributing insights and expertise to shape proper database hygiene, drive key data model and configuration decisions. Participates in requirements, design, and data migration workshop
Documentation: Create, maintain, review and approve comprehensive documentation related to GIS mapping processes, business rules, and workflow optimization, data model and configuration and data migration documentation
Decisive Sign-Off: Demonstrate decisiveness in signing off on data model and configuration and data migration and related documents
Oversee and manage various teams to ensure alignment and coordination across all project phases
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience
Master's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience
Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, required
Exceptional document review skills, providing insightful comments to enhance project documentation, required
Decisiveness in signing off on requirements, functional specifications, and component specs related to database management, required
High-level understanding of databases, with a focus on geodatabases, required
Proficiency in ESRI ArcCatalog for geodatabase administration, required
Driver's License Required
Preferred
Master's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience with ArcFM experience
Experience in providing access and privileges to geodatabase users, preferred
Knowledge of geoprocessing tools for data manipulation and an Understanding of versioning processes, reconciliation, and geodatabase compress, preferred
Familiarity with data replication processes in a geodatabase environment. Ability to repair geometry issues and ensure spatial data accuracy, preferred
Proven experience in GIS database management, specifically in electric and gas utility operations, preferred
Strong understanding of GIS applications and technologies, preferred
