Responsibilities

Course Scheduling
Acquires knowledge of department requirements and campus policy to coordinate the schedule of classes and associated secondary sections for selected departments and academic programs in BE
Devises solutions to classroom space and scheduling problems, taking into account the curriculum needs of students, the needs of faculty, and available options
Performs enrollment management across assigned departments, analyzing arising problems, and determining solutions
Mechanically sets up classes for student enrollment using knowledge of AIS enrollment system
Collects, analyzes, and provides statistics on enrollment trends to academic department
Acts as contact for assigned departments in management and advising for enrollment management (AIS, permission codes, wait lists)
Facilitates BE Instructional Support Orientation for incoming faculty, ensuring that new instructors understand what their divisional resources are
Coordinates secondary sections and laboratories to correspond with needs of primary courses based on analysis of projected enrollments
Maintains complex records of scheduling restrictions for all departments and programs to ensure course sections are set according to requirements of course and instructor
Anticipates and/or resolves conflicts as they arise, facilitates discussions as needed, represents the departments at campus wide meetings, and serves as liaison to the Registrar's Office, and to the BE Undergraduate and Graduate Advising Offices
Coordinates with the campus Registrar's Office to ensure adequate and appropriate classroom space and room reassignments based on course needs and historical enrollment information, and devises solutions to classroom and scheduling issues
Develops schedule for assigned lecture and distance learning courses, and serves as liaison with ITS Learning Technologies Services, Baskin Engineering Lab Support, and Silicon Valley Center to accomplish such
Assists in creation and implementation of training materials as related to curriculum and enrollment management
Implements curriculum development quality and service standards
Exercises knowledge in facilitating all new and revised course approval requests and related paperwork for selected departments
Reviews course approvals, ensuring submissions adhere to relevant policies and align with AIS guidelines
Responsible for maintaining department course submission information, as well as facilitating and routing of course approval materials through the campus Curriculum Approval Tracking (CAT) system
Participates in the annual revision and submission of catalog copies, and ongoing updates for all departments and programs within BE, adhering to CEP, Graduate Council and Registrar policies and best practices
Using working knowledge of course approval submission and tracking, facilitates new course approvals and curriculum revisions according to Academic Senate policy
Assists Instructional Support Coordinator with Disability Resource Center (DRC) analyses and planning as it pertains to BE testing
Assists in process documentation for DRC
Assists in creation and implementation of training materials and documentation as related to unit support and processes
Acts as a member of ISS in Baskin Engineering Department Service Center providing services for walk-in faculty/staff/students needing assistance
Serves as backup for ISS Team

Required

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
Knowledge of department, organization, and University policies, procedures, and directives
Knowledge of department and school / college general and major course requirements

Interpersonal skills to work with department senior management, faculty, and students
Strong analytical skills
