Temporary IT Lab Assistant
Florida International University is a Top 50 public research university located in Miami. The IT team at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences is seeking Temporary IT lab assistants to provide professional technical support for faculty and staff.

Responsibilities
Performs network troubleshooting on equipment, hardware, and repair
Installs and configures local and network printers
Creates logs and tracks service requests through resolution, using a help desk incident tracking software
Assists with coordinating minor IT-related projects in the NWCNHS
Assist with backup and recovery procedures for workstations
Perform new system installations, software upgrades and security patches
Install/ troubleshoot MS applications, email, network and local printers
Assist users with Microsoft Office applications, log in scripts, file retrieval and provide extensive technical support
Set up A/V equipment for faculty/staff presentations and Zoom meetings
Assist with the maintenance of the computer labs and digital displays
Assist with video conferencing equipment setup
Manages computer lab workstations, ensuring all PCs remain updated with security patches and are complying as set forth by the FIU Department of IT Security
Qualification
Required
High school diploma and two (2) years of appropriate experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Preferred
Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days
Customer service knowledge
Ability to work in team setting
Ability to take direction and work independently as needed
Experience with Windows Server 2012 and Mac OS knowledge helpful
Any Microsoft or CompTIA certifications are a plus
