They are seeking a Junior Inspector to join their Infrastructure – Transportation Team in Columbia, SC, responsible for observing and documenting the construction of transportation structures, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and maintaining project records.

Responsibilities
Observing and documenting the construction of highways, streets, roadways, and other transportation structures
Monitoring construction for conformance with contract documents and shop drawings/material submittals
Recording field observations and verifying construction conforms to quality control plans
Collecting data, writing reports, and coordinating sampling and testing
Preparing and maintaining project records in accordance with company, client, and/or government standards
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma required; an associate's degree in engineering science, construction management, or related technical field preferred
Valid US driver's license required
Able to comprehend construction plans and specifications
Understands and follows company standards, demonstrates knowledge of construction techniques, and assists mid-to-senior level team members with complex projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong mathematics skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment
Extensive travel may be required
Preferred
SCDOT Construction certifications are a plus
No prior experience required; however, prior construction or construction observation experience preferred
Experience with AWP is a plus
