Responsibilities
Answers and returns phone calls and face to face inquiries in a professional and courteous manner and maintain a positive public image to customers while handling multiple projects. Maintains call log of voicemails while returning call promptly and efficiently
Maintains cash and orders change for other departments, opens/closes cash drawers daily, and responsible for discrepancies in deposits. Provide change for other departments as necessary
Works with Collection Agencies and ClearBalance to resolve patient inquiries and/or set up payment arrangements, works EBO close report
Assists PFS Customer Service Coordinator with financial assistance applications
Serves as a liaison for Department of Social Services (DSS)
Serves as a liaison between the facility and Emergency Physicians, Radiology and Anesthesia billing groups regarding account inquiries
Qualification
Required
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, MS Windows and basic computer operations
Type 59 correct words per minute for Alpha. 125 for numeric
Insurance billing and/or other cashiering experience
Preferred
Associate Degree in Business
Medical environment experience
Completion of an approved Medical Terminology
Ability to communicate in Spanish
Two years customer service experience in a healthcare environment
Cashiering or related background
Meditech or other medical data systems experience
