Postdoctoral Scholar in Chemical Engineering
Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The successful candidate will engage in research involving mucin and pathogenic E. coli interactions, RNA silencing in biofilms, and developing predictive models for microbiome interventions.

Utilize a mucin-on-chip system to identify the interactions between pathogenic E. coli and mucin using various E. coli strains
Investigate sequence-based RNA silencing of bacterial antitoxins in mucin-associated biofilms and investigate its impact on the fitness of the mucin and the microbial counterpart
Engineer predictor models for microbiome interventions on mucin
Qualification
Required
A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required
