Responsibilities
You will serve as a Employee Assistance Program Specialist and be responsible for managing the Coast Guard (USCG) Employee Assistance Program (EAP), according to the guidance provided in the Coast Guard's EAP policies and other applicable directives as may be issued by competent authorities
Providing direct diagnostic assessment, evaluation, preventative and treatment services evidenced based principles, theories and techniques for the purpose of understanding, preventing and relieving psychological based distress
Participating, coordinating, and conducting evidenced based training, measurements, reports, awareness, prevention, and intervention as required by Supervisor for various EAP programs
Conducting intensive follow-up services to assist employees in maintaining their health and/or resolution of problems, working with individuals, couples, families, groups, and communities to coordinate and ensure those are connected to appropriate resources
Responsible for policy implementation, planning, and activities in support of operations stress control/traumatic incident response by recruiting and training members as prescribed by USCG
Maintains effective communication with Office of Work-Life (CG-111) Program Managers (PMs), the Health, Safety, and Work-Life Service Center (HSWL SC), unit leaders and commanding officers, USCG healthcare personnel, resilience peers, chaplain, etc
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required

Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted, independent, advanced practice clinical social work license--e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or equivalent
All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit
This position requires the selectee to pass a pre-employment drug test
Must have a minimum of a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector
Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted, independent, advanced practice clinical social work license-e.g. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or equivalent-and be able to provide a copy of the license for verification at the time of job application
Submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution. Once selected & prior to appointment, applicants must provide an official college transcript
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if you can show that your foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States
You are required to provide all unofficial transcripts (undergraduate, graduate, etc.) by the closing date of this announcement or you will be disqualified from further consideration
