Responsibilities

The Financial Litigation Program oversees the collection of criminal and civil debts owed to victims of federal crime and to the United States
AUSAs in the Financial Litigation Program conduct asset investigations, pursue garnishments of wages, obtain turnover orders for debtors' assets, and seek to unwind fraudulent transfers of assets
The assigned AUSA will work closely with their counterparts in the Criminal and Civil Divisions, pre-judgment and post-judgment, to maximize financial recoveries for victims and the government
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress

Required

Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree
Active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)
At least 1-year post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience
Minimum of two years of post J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience
Must be a United States Citizen or National
Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing
Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
Must reside in the district to which appointed or within 25 miles thereof
If a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with the Selective Service System
