The role involves providing technical and supportive functions regarding surgical equipment and supplies to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency in the operating room, while collaborating with surgery centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Maintains adequate inventory of all required equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels
Prepares surgical equipment and supplies for daily departmental activities to include logistical and technical support for laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures
Demonstrates competence regarding the functionality and connectivity of all minimally invasive equipment and video components to include configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining functionality before, during and after surgical procedures to quickly resolve issues
Demonstrates the ability to interact with physicians and other perioperative team members as requested to ensure all intraoperative preferences are met
Maintains clean and safe work environment for all healthcare providers in the Surgical Suite
Maintains equipment records and logs that require documentation as indicated
Responsible for transporting specimens and lab requests to the appropriate locations
Responsible for replacement of Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, and Helium cylinders to their respective equipment/locations
Demonstrates basic knowledge of aseptic technique principles and Universal Precautions with appropriate use of PPE
Responsible for stocking warming cabinets for fluids and blankets
Monitors the Equipment Room to maintain organization and ensure that equipment is returned to their designated area after patient use and appropriate disinfection
Responsible for retrieving surgical supplies/equipment as requested
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 6 months of the date of hire
PA clearances required
