The Engineer – Reliability Quality will focus on improving product reliability and reducing costs by analyzing data and leading cross-functional teams to address quality issues.
Responsibilities
Reduce internal and external failure costs due to design and process-related failures
8D facilitation and documentation
Pareto and analyze warranty data to identify and communicate current issues
Six Sigma methodology to understand capability, failure rates, basic statistics
Participate in and drive design reviews, including DFM/A, Serviceability, and Safety
Use data collection and instrumentation to understand failures and system interactions
Develop test methods to simulate field environments
Coordinate cross functional teams internally and externally, to solve problems, or facilitate strategic projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing) from an ABET accredited university
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of quality tools and methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FEMA, 8D)
Willingness to work in a hands-on environment
Preferred
Internship and co-op experience in a manufacturing or quality-related role preferably heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or automotive
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Experience using data acquisition equipment and statistical analysis tools (e.g. Dewesoft, Minitab)
Engine (diesel and/or gaseous) experience is a plus
