Responsibilities

Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in highway/roadway design
Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures and criteria
Assist project managers and technical leads in developing highway and traffic design plans that may include grading, signs, pavement markings, traffic signals, roadside safety devices, ITS, drainage, pavement, and utilities
Demonstrate strong understanding of codes, provisions, and standards including the MUTCD and AASHTO guidelines
Prepare complete project documents independently
Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems
Assist with the preparation of scopes of work, budgets, and schedule meetings
Serve as a mentor and technical advisor to engineers and senior engineers
Organize and perform field investigations/site visits as needed
Perform engineering calculations and create cost estimates
Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and colleagues
Meet schedule, budget, and quality goals set by project managers

Highway/Roadway DesignMicroStationGeopak/InRoadsEngineer in Training (EIT)Civil 3DDOT ExperiencePE LicenseEnglish Proficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required
5+ years' experience in highway/roadway design is required
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required; PE license preferred
MicroStation, Geopak/InRoads and current OpenRoads experience is required
Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

PE license preferred
Civil 3D and DOT experience is a plus
