Solid Waste Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities
Function as a project manager or technical lead on small to large solid waste projects. May be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently
Establish client relations and work closely on marketing, client development, contractual, design and production activities
Coordinate staffing and workload allocations throughout the project development phases
Complete deliverables and milestones on schedule
Work closely with Business/Accounting Manager, Project and the Department Manager for project reviews
Comply with and implement company QA/QC procedures
Provide contract management support
Other duties as assigned
Supervises project staff and acts as mentor for less experienced solid waste technical staff and Project Managers
Work with Section Manager and waste client development leads to prioritize marketing targets
Develop marketing strategies and proposals for new and existing solid waste clients
Planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of solid waste engineering projects such as solid waste facilities, transfer stations, landfill and planning studies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5 years related experience
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Experience with NY state solid waste and recycling regulations required
Experience managing projects for the New York City Department of Sanitation is a plus
Experience with solid waste master planning, zero waste planning, and implementation of waste diversion programs is a plus
Zero waste certification or experience preferred
Experience with organics management and organics facility design is a plus
Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management and evidence of experience interacting directly with clients higher preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D
