Responsibilities

Design, configure, and test protective relay systems for power systems and substations, ensuring high reliability and integrity of protection and control schemes for medium and high voltage substations systems
Develop and implement protection and control schemes that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific needs
Design and/or support elaboration of Control Logic Diagrams, Signal Lists, Functional Design Specifications documents during design phase of the project
Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and set up testing environments for customer projects
Prepare and execute (SAT) and commissioning scripts for customer projects
Be one of our primary customer interfaces, including trouble shooting and commissioning support
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases

Required

A bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/computer science engineering
Three years of engineering experience in power protection for electrical substations
Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems
Knowledge of at least one of the relay products Siemens, GE, SEL, ABB, and others relay/automation products and associated software
Experience with at least one of the most common communication protocols such as IEC61850, DNP, Modbus, IEC103, IEC101, IEC104, Profinet, Profibus
Factory and Site testing experience in protection and control systems
Around 50-75% of nationwide travel is expected depending on project assignments and requirements

Preferred

Experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting protection relays applications for low, medium and high voltage substations
Proficiency with Siemens digital protection and control relays, particularly the Siprotec5 family
Hands on experience with engineering software for Siprotec5 such as Digsi 5
Programming skills and familiarity with one or more industry standard relay configuration tools, such as SEL AcSELerator, SEL Architect, Hitachi PCM600, MiCOM or GE EnerVista UR
