The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applicants for the part-time position of Research Integrity Associate. This role is responsible for developing and implementing research security policies and oversight measures to ensure ethical conduct and security of research activities, focusing on safeguarding research data and compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement research security policies aligned with federal and institutional regulations (e.g., NSPM-33, CUI, export controls)

Ensure compliance with federal funding agency security requirements (e.g., NIH, NSF, DOE, DOD)

Collaborate with IT security to safeguard sensitive research data and intellectual property

Conduct research security training sessions and develop resources for faculty, researchers, and students on research integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance best practices

Provide guidance on responsible international collaborations and best practices for securing research data

Assess risks related to foreign influence in research and develop mitigation strategies while promoting an inclusive research environment

Monitor evolving federal research security guidelines and update

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., research administration, cybersecurity, law, public policy, or science/engineering)

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
