Responsibilities

Configure and test RTU/PLC for protection and controls schemes of Medium and High Voltage substations systems
Develop new application solutions with IEC61850 or other communication protocols relevant in the energy automation field
Design and/or support elaboration of Control Logic Diagrams, System Network Architecture, Signal Lists, Functional Design Specifications documents during design phase of the project
Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and set up testing environments for customer projects
Be one of our primary customer interfaces, including trouble shooting and commissioning support
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases

Required

A bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/computer science engineering
Three years of engineering experience in power automation for electrical substations
Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems
Knowledge of at least one of the relay products Siemens, GE, SEL, ABB, and others relay/automation products and associated software
Communication Network Technologies, including Design and hardware configuration
Experience with at least one of the most common communication protocols such as IEC61850, DNP, Modbus, IEC103, IEC101, IEC104, Profinet, Profibus
Factory and Site testing experience in automation and control systems
Ability to travel 50-75% is expected depending on project assignments and requirements

Preferred

Communication Network Technologies, including Design, Configuration, and troubleshooting of layer 2 and layer 3 capable devices for protection and automation applications with Ruggedcom and Scalance products
Knowledge in Siemens Power Automation products such as SICAM PAS, SICAM RTU, SICAM SCC
Experience with Power Automation engineering tools such as SICAM Device Manager
Programming skills and experience with at least one of the most common programming languages used in process and power automation such as C++, ST, LD, FBD
