Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design effort for applications including missile steering actuation systems, critical positioning system. Prior knowledge and competency in the area of servomechanism, servo valves and control are preferred
Apply your expertise in design for manufacturing. Work with peer engineers and technicians to inform the design for manufacturability
Support the detailed analyses for our products including the following possible areas including CAD layout, GD&T tolerance analysis, dynamic, structural and thermal analysis capability and understanding. Basic understanding and knowledge of brushless motors sizing and operation
Direct other engineers to generate conceptual designs/drawings, and/or conduct that work individually
Ensure drawings are complete and accurate which could include using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) methodologies to meet design, manufacturing and inspection requirements
Application engineer Moog standard products to meet new mission requirements
Work in Teamcenter/NX or comparable CAD application
Present your work to colleagues and to customers
Mentor and coach other design engineers

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 10 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant design experience
Experience interfacing with customers and demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and coach other engineers
Can understand new technical concepts and products. Utilize these skills to understand risks and take appropriate action
Practical knowledge and/or experience with technical drawing practices and GD&T standards
3D CAD modeling experience
Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access to U.S. export-controlled information

Preferred

Prior knowledge and competency in the area of servomechanism, servo valves and control
