Sr. Metrology Technician

The Sr. Metrology Technician is responsible for performing routine calibrations, tests, and inspections, managing day-to-day escalations, and assisting entry-level technicians in learning new measurement procedures.

Responsibilities
Perform calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
Calibrate and repair equipment such as Multimeters, frequency counter, timers, oscilloscopes, dimensional hand tools, blueprint-controlled devices and fixtures, pressure devices, Thermo-hygrometers, scales, load cells, force devices, and other devices
Calibrate standards used in calibrations and maintain equipment to established performance standards
Record maintenance activities in CMS, generate reports on results of tests, conditions of equipment and/or systems, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed, and prepare necessary documentation as required by customer and regulatory requirements
Interpret and create uncertainty budget in accordance with ISO 17025:2017
Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment
Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
High school diploma with 7+ years of experience in the field, OR associate's degree in engineering technology or a relevant field with 5+ years of experience
Working knowledge of one or more of the following voltages, current, resistance, capacitance, time and frequency, signal conditioning, blueprint and drawings, dimensional tooling and hand tools, pressure controllers, pressure dead weight testers, force gages and load cells, etc
Ability to interpret, validate, modify, and create uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO 17025:2107
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel
Ability to travel to client locations to perform onsite service up to 75%
Preferred
Experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, and Met/Cal systems
Familiarity with laboratory measurement and calibration equipment
Experience in calibration of mass and weights, and/or the use of mass comparators
