Responsibilities
Prepare complex Federal, State, and Local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt organizations
Review mid-level complexity tax filings — including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns — prepared by tax staff for accuracy and completeness
Review and respond to tax authorities
Provide tax planning and consultative services throughout the year, including projecting estimated taxes and providing recommendations and tax strategies
Analyze trial balances and prepare year-end adjusting entries
Stay current on evolving tax laws and industry regulations
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in tax at a public accounting firm
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Strong knowledge of current tax laws and ability to apply to clients in direct interaction
Ability to manage multiple engagements, competing projects, and deadlines
Strong attention to detail and proven innovative problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical and technical skills with mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Diverse range of experience in client size, industry, project hours, and types of work
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with ability to maintain client relationships
Proactive and energetic team personality
Preferred
CPA license, CPA candidate, or EA certification preferred
Experience with Lacerte is a plus
Experience completing FinCen forms and required foreign compliance disclosures is valuable
