The Senior Director, External Innovation will lead the external innovation strategy for the Immunology Therapeutic Area, collaborating with various teams to drive business development and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

Partner with Disease Area Stronghold (DAS) and TA co-leaders to establish and align and deliver an integrated IMM external innovation strategy, including opportunities through New Business Development, Innovation Centers, Mergers and Acquisitions, and other novel external innovation opportunities

Work closely with Finance (including TA Finance Director, BD Finance, and IC Finance Leads) to consistently develop insightful data-driven, stage-gate-appropriate valuations for external innovation opportunities

Serve as a single primary point of contact for the Immunology TA with Regional Commercial teams regarding deal strategy, prioritization, local forecasting and competitive landscape insights and data

In partnership with Immunology DAS Analytics leaders, continuously ensure differentiated competitive landscape insights that impact external innovation strategy and deal decisions

Support the Immunology GCSO Leadership Team by establishing and continuously expanding Johnson and Johnson Immunology Commercial connectivity to the marketplace, including building relationships with current and potential future collaboration/BD target commercial leaders

Required

A minimum of a BS/BA degree is required

A minimum of 10 years of progressive and diverse business leadership experience is required, with meaningful experience in marketing, business development, strategic consulting, or analytics functions

An understanding of the pharmaceuticals industry, including healthcare economic dynamics and value chain/value creation is required

A demonstrated track record of successfully managing high performing teams is required and will have a proven track record of delivering strong, measurable, business results

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to effectively communicate and influence across all functions, with peers, and in senior executive forums

The successful candidate must demonstrate learning agility and an enterprise mindset

This position will be based in Horsham, NJ, and will require up to 20% travel, including international travel
