Responsibilities

Review and approve department journal entries

Maintain accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations

Lead month-end and year-end close processes for assigned entities

Support Wakefern’s monthly and quarterly balance sheet review process

Partner with auditors and internal teams to ensure smooth audits

Drive process improvements and implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy

Develop, coach, and mentor accounting staff to achieve departmental goals

Coordinate and assist with warranty claim preparation and receivables

Collaborate with Treasury to establish loans for transportation fixed asset purchases

Oversee fuel tax compliance and operational requirements related to fleet registration and titling for new and existing vehicles

Support special projects and initiatives within the department

Perform other duties as assigned
