They are seeking a Sr./Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to join their product development team, responsible for transforming concepts into detailed mechanical designs and leading the prototyping and validation of new firefighting equipment.

Responsibilities
Lead the design, prototype, and validation testing of new firefighting equipment (nozzles, shutoffs, enclosures, etc.)
Responsible for electromechanical design of HEN products
Collaborate with vendors to mass manufacture components
Continuous improvement of current product portfolio
Hands-on collaboration with manufacturing to bring new products online
Develop internal test protocols, equipment, and carry-out proof-of-concept tests
Support design and testing through documentation
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's with 4+ years
Experience designing components for implementation in high-volume production
Proficiency in CAD, Solidworks experience desired
Familiarity with embedded electrical systems desired
Strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics and material science
Strong understanding of rugged industrial grade design
Solid fundamentals of Design for Reliability (Shock/Vibration/Thermal)
Familiarity with range of manufacturing and prototyping techniques
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
Authorization to work in the US
Preferred
Experience with microcontroller-based system design
Familiarity with valves, pumps, pressure-flow systems
