The City of New York is seeking College Aides to join the Department of Design & Construction. The role involves assisting in various tasks related to Coastal Resiliency and Sustainability and Urban Design projects, including data collection, drawing creation, and research.

Responsibilities

Create drawings from basic data and sketches

Assist engineers in collecting and selecting data

Manage map archives

Engage in regular surveys

Oversee the coordination of AutoCAD drawings with utilities and consulting firms

Assist in the performance of research

Data collection and interpretation

Report writing and mapping work with low to moderate difficulty

Required

Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school

Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position

Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school

Preferred

Preference will be given to candidates majoring in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Urban Design, City Planning, or a related field

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiar with AutoCAD will be considered an advantage

Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred)
