Responsibilities
Purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization
Qualifying our suppliers
Monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery
Evaluating bids
Negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services
Tracking purchases
Maintaining a current database of our supplier information
Providing subject matter expertise on complex procurements of significant dollar value
Independently managing multiple service type contracts
Helping with the planning of the process for the purchasing function
Supporting programs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Procurement experience
Preferred
Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
Strong understanding of all aspects of finance and accounting related to procurement
Complete understanding of the full cycle of procurement processes
