Responsibilities

Lead the permitting process for new site builds, modifications, small cells, and fiber-related projects from application through approval

Review construction drawings, lease documents, and project plans to ensure permit applications align with site designs and regulatory requirements

Prepare, submit, and track permit applications with all relevant jurisdictions and agencies, ensuring timely approvals

Serve as the primary liaison with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies, addressing comments, negotiating conditions, and resolving issues

Interpret and apply zoning codes, land-use ordinances, and environmental regulations affecting wireless infrastructure deployments

Identify permitting risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays

Coordinate with internal teams (site acquisition, design, construction, legal, and project management) to align permitting deliverables with project schedules and milestones

Monitor and communicate changes in permitting laws, ordinances, or processes that may impact project execution

Acquire permit fee amounts and coordinate payment requests (check or credit card) to support timely submission

Maintain organized and accurate records of all applications, permits, and communications within the project database

Meet with local jurisdictions to understand and document all permitting requirements, including lead times, points of contact, and special conditions

Proactively ensure compliance with permit drawing requirements established by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)

Collaborate with project controls teams regarding pay points, pass-through costs, and markup considerations impacted by permitting activities

Prioritize permit submissions based on agency review times and customer-driven project schedules

Required

Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings and site plans required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

3–5 years of permitting experience in telecommunications, utilities, or related infrastructure projects preferred

Familiarity with Google Earth and other mapping software preferred
