AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Leidos is seeking an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active TS/SCI to support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC). This role involves developing and integrating system models into a large-scale AFSIM simulation environment while collaborating with a team to solve complex challenges.

Responsibilities

Develop and integrate system models (satellites, radars, aircraft, missiles, command & control) into a large-scale, many-on-many AFSIM simulation environment
Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team of government and contractor staff
Create AFSIM representations of space and ground systems for AF/DoD use, applying engineering judgment to address intelligence gaps and accurately model real-world systems
Utilize CI/CD tools to test and evaluate AFSIM models prior to delivery
Prepare documentation, analytic reports, and multimedia products to support mission objectives

Required

Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field with 8+ years of experience; OR Master's degree with 6+ years of experience. Equivalent experience, training, or certifications may be accepted in place of a degree
Proficiency in C++ and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) techniques
Experience with CMake and Visual Studio for building and compiling AFSIM extensions and plug-ins
Experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling), including extensions and plug-ins
Strong English-language writing and briefing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a highly technical, collaborative environment
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor setting

Preferred

Master's degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field
Prior experience at NSIC or NASIC, working with Intelligence Community models and all-source analysis
Familiarity with radars, aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, and tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder
