Azure Cloud Engineer

They are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join their Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML team to support the development, design, and modernization of Azure solutions in a government multi-cloud environment.

Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise using best practices for designing cloud solutions
Consult, Develop of complex cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
Develop proofs of concept, and advise on the best use of Azure services to solve current challenges
Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and security guidelines for cloud adoption and migration
Provision, manage, and set up monitoring in Azure cloud services/systems (to include support with OS and application-level patching)
Expert in GitLab CI, repository and Ansible
Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory
Familiarity with Azure data storage such SQL Server, SSIS, and data warehouse environments
Understanding of identity and access management in complex enterprise environments is a plus
Design and implement Azure-based solutions leveraging services such as Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Storage
Set up automation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
Ensure cloud solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability
Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies based on requirements and cost considerationto meet clients' technical, security, and business needs
Serve as the technical platform engineer for Azure projects, providing guidance to development, operations, and infrastructure teams
Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a place of continuous learning and technical excellence
Drive innovation by researching and recommending new cloud services and solutions that align with the organization’s goals
Design secure cloud architecture, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards
Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption
Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities in the cloud environment
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Communicate architectural decisions, strategy, and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Partner with other technical leaders to create a shared vision of cloud architecture and establish architectural principles for the organization
Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions
Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues, ensuring minimal impact to the organization and driving root cause analysis
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship required - Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
7+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience
5+ years of developing systems requirements and design specifications in Azure
3+ years of experience in project management/ lead architect positions in Azure development or implementation
Expertise in GitLab, Terraform, and Ansible
Expert in leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets
Expert knowledge and understanding of Azure cloud and deploying in Government environments
Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment. Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation
Preferred
Azure certifications (Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure (DP-203), Azure Developer (AZ-204), Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500))
Experience with other cloud platforms
Familiarity with SharePoint (on-prem and/or online)
Previous experience supporting DHS
