Responsibilities

Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for diverse projects
Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical expertise to solve complex engineering problems
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other stakeholders
Perform site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure quality control
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD
Working knowledge and experience related to traffic signal operation and controller programming
Advanced Training in Maintenance of Traffic (Temporary Traffic Control)
Working knowledge and experience with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Working knowledge and experience with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Guide on Geometric Design
Intimate knowledge of a Department of Transportation including their policies, practices, and applicable
Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Experience in project management and team leadership
Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
Familiarity with construction processes and materials
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Willingness and desire to work above and beyond the minimum performance and goal requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to travel as needed
