Payroll & Accounting Manager, North America

Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality of compensation and other personnel data used in all employee related responsibilities
Responsible for coordination and oversight for all payroll and benefit related accounting, including accurate and timely payroll accounting, pension reporting, various bonus plans, retention and severance, as well as intercompany transactions. This position will oversee one to three accountants who manage the US and Canadian payrolls, and any associated cash postings, intercompany arrangements, and reconciliations thereon
Review monthly reconciliations for payroll and benefit accrual accounts
Understand and review ADP payroll accounting HR application
Coordinate with Human Resource Payroll function
Coordinate and manage monthly reviews with businesses and functions over the North America and Corporate cost centers and make necessary month-end entries to ensure material accuracy
Support internal control environment to satisfy external and internal requirements specific to financial analysis, special projects and financial standards/policy updates as requested
Responsible for reviewing Balance Sheet and Income Statement and provide accounting guidance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related area
Strong technical accounting experience, including experience with the coordination of multi-location reporting, segment reporting, foreign exchange translation, and accounting for income taxes and pensions an added plus
Strong understanding of Financial Statements and SEC reporting
Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines
Experience with process/controls documentation required
Experience coaching direct reports
Ability to work independently and interact with coworkers, senior management, auditors, etc
Ability to adjust to changing priorities
Strong project management skills
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred
CPA preferred
At least 5 years of experience with 2 years in corporate accounting experience preferred
Experience in consolidation accounting or external reporting preferred
Excellent ADP, Excel and ERP system skills, such as SAP (preferred), Oracle, etc
