Research Coordinator, Ruminant Nutrition

Responsibilities
Coordinate research at the Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) within the beef unit and ruminant nutrition studies. This may include pasture and grazing research and/or coordination of feedlot pen research. Plan and implement graduate student research projects in concert with ruminant nutrition faculty to include weighing, sorting, and allotting of cattle on nutrition experiments
Complete collection of experimental data, cattle weights, feed records and all data associated with ruminant nutrition research
Assist beef nutrition faculty in the design of nutrition experiments and formulation of experimental rations or supplementation programs
Compile, summarize and statistically analyze data from experiments
Procure special feed ingredients and supplies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in animal science or related field, plus three (3) years of research-related computer and statistical analysis experience, OR
Master's degree in animal science or related field, plus one (1) year of research-related computer and statistical analysis experience. Additional relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis
Project management and/or supervisory experience
Substantial knowledge of the beef nutrition system and industry
Strong organizational, prioritization and computer skills
Must be able to manage multiple tasks
Valid driver's license and ability to meet University driver eligibility criteria
Preferred
Master's degree in animal science or related field plus animal production experience preferred
