Application Engineer

Responsibilities
Support Project Manager for APQP documentation/Customer Program Development (APQP)
Travel to support customers and to support/develop new opportunities
Work with Product Engineers & Designers to conceptualize design solutions that meet customer requirements
Act as the voice of the customer regarding Product Design review prior to presentation to the customer
Support Request for Quotes (RFQ) and Sample Order (SO) processes
Review and cascade Verification and Validation Testing to meet customer expectations and minimize project costs and timing
Initiate analysis of returned product from EOT (End of Test) or field and draft report
Basic problem-solving skills: ability to methodically organize a root cause investigation for End of Test results or field returned parts
Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to assure manufacturability of design
Manage customer requests and expectations to ensure a positive perception of Tenneco
Support Account Managers to develop specific customer account strategies
Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives related to quality, cost, scrap, profit, productivity, customer service, and adherence to budget
Working knowledge of internal and customer systems
Prepare and give detailed technical customer presentations based on template and/or input from higher-level Application Engineers
Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks concurrently
Communicate changing marketplace needs internally to aid in defining and releasing new products and materials

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent/higher experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, however more is preferred
