Commercial Sales Manager

They are seeking a Commercial Sales Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, cultivating key customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets in the commercial market.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the commercial lighting business designed to achieve or exceed annual sales targets and market share objectives
Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities within the commercial lighting sector (e.g., new builds, retrofits, renovation projects, design firms, and specifier channels)
Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and quarterly/annual business reviews for senior management
Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and preparation of proposals and formal bid packages
Collaborate with sales and marketing to define needs for trade shows & events
Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to support, coach, and develop field sales representatives
Partner with marketing to develop and execute initiatives specific to the commercial channel
Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure offerings, pricing, product positioning and service levels align with market needs
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product development, pricing strategies, and messaging
Communicates and recommends promotional material for customer events, promos and initiatives
Identifies product trends and competitive features relevant to the commercial channel and communicates insights to influence future product planning
Participate in new product discussions and provide channel-focused input during product planning and release cycles
Presents an annual sales forecast for the commercial channel
Develop quarterly and annual business plan outlining key initiatives, priorities and strategic actions needed to achieve forecasted sales figures for the commercial channel
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field, or an equivalent combination of related business experience and proven success in sales/marketing related positions
Minimum five (5) years of progressive sales experience, preferably in commercial or B2B markets
Minimum three (3) years of senior sales leadership experience
Strong knowledge of B2B and B2C sales, distributor relationships, and sales in commercial and residential markets
Demonstrated strong problem solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
High integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other business applications
Ability to travel up to 50% (customer sites, trade shows, industry events)
Visits to corporate headquarters (monthly or as needed)
Ability to work in an office and perform in a corporate environment; travel environment will vary (airports, showrooms, hotels, etc.)
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Ability to view computer screens and type on a keyboard
Ability to converse over the telephone (hear, speak)
Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States, as it is not our practice to sponsor individuals for work visas
Preferred
Industry experience in lighting, furniture, plumbing, trade, or commercial preferred
Prior experience working with independent rep agencies preferred
