Mechanical Engineer Intern

They are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their dynamic engineering team for the Summer of 2026, providing an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects and gain invaluable industry experience.

Responsibilities
Participate in the design, development, and analysis of mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications, including high-energy pulsed power systems, large ground-based satellite antennas, military aircraft antennas, and/or space batteries systems
Create and modify 3D CAD models and generate technical drawings in accordance with industry drafting standards
Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing
Perform laboratory activities including test planning, execution, data acquisition, and analysis
Perform basic engineering calculations (structural and thermal analysis) using hand-calcs and/or simulation tools to support design efforts
Collaborate with other functional teams (electrical, physics, manufacturing) on design, research, and development projects
Document design progress, test results, and engineering processes through technical reports and presentations

Required
Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum GPA of 3.0
A basic understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles
Basic proficiency with 3D CAD software
Enjoy hands-on mechanical work and a willingness to work in both an office and R&D lab environment
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and an inquisitive nature
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
The ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
